Corn\Maize Processing :
Corn kernel is formed by the cortex, germ, endosperm and root cap. Among them, the cortex and root cap are high in fiber and tastes not good enough, normally as byproducts; germ may contain a variety of vitamins, amino acids, and 30% fat. However, the germ is high in unsaturated fatty acids and unsaturated fatty acids are easily oxidized, thus affecting the taste and preservation of corn products, it should be separated in processing, for further oil extraction and manufacturing high-protein feed; endosperm contains a lot of protein and starch, is the main component of grits and flour-making.
Variety of products:
corn kernels, large grits, medium grits, small grits, corn meal and various by-products (bran, feed powder)
Output ratio of products:
total output 60-70% of Corn Grits (large, medium, small) and corn powder (including 40-45% of large grits, the grits and fine grits and 20 - 30% of corn flour), 20-28% of feed meal, and 8% of bran. (Note: Figures may vary from different corn varieties.)
